I have two of those in my machine and did not do anything special.
dmesg output:

hdb: C/H/S=57461/16/255 from BIOS ignored
hda: WDC WD1200JB-00DUA3, ATA DISK drive
hdb: WDC WD1200JB-00CRA1, ATA DISK drive
