I am running VMware 3.2.0 fine on Fedora, you need to go to their 
knowledge base, there is a patch for RH8+ kernels which you need to get, 
and need to use for any kernel update to recompile your vmware modules.  
I used this patch to update my modules to the FC1 kernel and everything 
worked fine.
