I didn't hear about a Fedora 'live' CD like that, but what I would do is beg 
steal or borrow an old, outdated HDD.  2GB will do okay, they're considered 
junk by most people now.  Swap out your existing HDD with all your stuff 
intact, and install to the ancient HDD.  Then when you decide, swap your HDD 
back in and either pick up where you left off with RH9, or if you like it, do 
a second Fedora upgrade install over RH9.
