ATI Radeon 345 driver and 3D acceleration

I've got a Radeon 345M graphics card and as of current
I had to use a replacement driver instead of the one
provided in XFree86.  I think i read somewhere that
the driver was only released after XFree86 4.3 is
released.  How would I know if there are any new
drivers being released? Can anyone be kind enough to
point me to the website.  Also I would love to have 3D
acceleration.  I think this would require a patch to
the kernel? Again, where would i obtain the right
patch for fedora?
