Excellent point. Even some 20 years later, the promise of a computer in
every home is yet to become a reality.
Some countries like India, and Brazil have been producing very low-cost
machines which are linux-based.
In the "developed countries", there are many new users who
find the "older junk" machines suit their means. The computer is now
becoming as essential as a standard (as opposed to cellular)
telephone.
... a very good argument for a *user-friendly* and "light" linux system!
