asus a7v600 audio and lan problem

I have an ASUS A7V600 mainboard with onboard audio ADI AD1980 SoundMAX
6-channel CODEC and onboard lan 3Com 3C940 and I can't make them work
in fedora core 1. I tried to install the driver for LAN from the asus
website but I couldn't make it because of some errors.
for the audio, fedora detected it corectly but when listening to the
test soud I can't hear anything. In xserver it also looks ok but I
still can't here anything.
does anyone know what I can do ?
