i have added before all users with: 1) useradd user and useradd machine$ to make sure, they exist in passwd-file 2) smbpasswd -a user and smbpasswd -a -m machine$ to add them into the smbpasswd-file. so, i think it should be all fine, but for sure, i forgotten one detail. Authentification for Win-Clients works excellent, but not for Linux-clients.... Roger
