I know how you feel. I seem to be on a perpetual quest to get a bug-free
Pan on my system, which is why I'm always so quick to the plate with new
source (beta or otherwise).

First there was a lack of multi-part binaries support, then it did
binaries but not yenc. I'm ever hopeful that Pan will eventually support
gpg directly, but it's so slow coming. With the last couple of releases,
I've noticed this weirdness:

Compose a message and select some text using the mouse. Let go of the left
mouse button and move the mouse. Now here's the trick; sometimes if the
time between releasing the button and moving the mouse is short enough,
Pan behaves as though you haven't let go of the button, and extends the
"selection" beyond the last point at which you released the button. It's
subtle, but damned annoying, especially if you're quick at everything on
the desktop like me.

Now try navigating the text using the cursor keys. It isn't smooth, but
seems to "jump". It's as is the keyboard's buffer is filling up too
quickly, and is also damned annoying.

Lastly, text wrapping. This one's difficult to illustrate, but here goes:

1) ... I write a line like this.

(The 3 lines in between don't exist, but are necessary to illustrate)

2) ... And another line like this.

When I post the message, it appears like this on the NG:

1) ... I write a line like this.2) ... And another line like this.

Arrrggg. That last one drives me nuts. Both lines 1 and 2 are clearly
under 76 chars, and yet because they are adjacent they get wrapped in a
senseless fashion. It's enough to make me want to post is HTML ... er ...
on second thoughts - no.

Well I was hoping for some fixes, but ... nope.

Oh well.

Keith.
