There will always be 'friction' between those who see established lists
as communities of interest and those who see it a useful tool governed
by tightly regulated discussion. 

Tolerance on all sides is usually the way to go. 

If there is too much empty chatter, pointing it out is always
useful....and usually resolves the problems (for a time).
