edit start menu in Gnome?

and if you should run in trouble

eg.
  nautilus crash
  no/only_a_few menus
  ...

and if you cannot solve it in an other way
  delete/save your modified files
  and execute
  # rpm -Uvh --replacepkgs --replacefiles  gnome-vfs2-2.4.1.1.i386.rpm
