Installing RealPlayer RPM trashed RPM database! How to fix?

Well, so far, Real's new Helix Player
<http://player.helixcommunity.org> more or less works
on Fedora. The plugin chokes on CNET videos
(news.com), but then so does RealPlayer 8. :-(
