Hrm strange.  One would expect that if one has to enable both 
GRAPHICAL="yes" in /etc/sysconfig/init, AND put "rhgb" on the kernel line 
in grub/lilo, that if one were to remove one or the other, no graphical 
boot will be seen.  Well, it's _almost_ like that, except for the way that 
having no "rhgb" on the kernel line works is quite unexpected.
