Taint at boot eh?  Sounds like part of the driver is closed source.  If the 
driver isn't fully GPL compliant it has no chance of getting into FC.  If 
it's not in upstream kernel somewhere, it has little chance of getting 
into FC.  I think you may be barking up the wrong tree.
