CD Ripping Not Working

Hi!

I just did a fresh installation of FC1 and now CD ripping isn't working 
either in Grip or Sound Juicer. The funny thing is, it worked fine under 
Red Hat 9 which I had installed previously. When I tell either programme 
to rip tracks, they show a progress bar that doesn't move (the drive is 
never accessed). My CD drives are:

/dev/cdrom  Pioneer DVD-104 DVD-ROM Drive
/dev/cdrom1 Teac CD-W54E CD-RW Driver

I hope you can help me fix this :-)
