But if you want to keep the GUI and still access a text console when
you feel like it, just type CTRL-ALT-Fx where x is a digit in the range
of 1-7 to exit the GUI mode. Once in a text console, simply AKLT-Fx
will work. ALT-F8 to go back to the GUI.
