xmovie and mtv play too fast on fedora 1.0

I installed xmovie-1.9.11-1.i386.rpm and mtv-1.2.5-1.i386.rpm on my 
Fedora Core 1.0 Pentium IV 2GHz Dell and they both play faster (audio 
and video) then normal on most (not all) mpegs and quicktimes. Any ideas?
