Did you try acpi=on kernel parm?  e.g. "linux acpi=on" at install prompt.
Also, don't know if 919EA has this in common with Presario 2100Z and 
2500, but go into BIOS setup during boot, and disable "legacy USB", if 
you have such a setting.
