Firewire hard drive not detected or mountable

Fedora core 2 test2
Linux doesn't seem to detect my Firewire hard drive. I can't mount /dev/sda1.
It has an ntfs filesystem. I had this same problem with Redhat 9. USB2 camera
is detected fine.
This was in dmesg:
