rpm -q mplayer

check out the version, and see if it matches what you posted.

what you SHOULD have is this:

apt-get -qq update && apt-get -s -dqqy dist-upgrade

-d only downloads, what you have right now automatically upgrades what you have on your system.


-d (the -d lovin' man)
