In my opinion using procmail is better because then it doesn't restrict
you to a single email client. Using procmail, IMAP, and ssh I can read
my email from a variety of machines, both local and remote.

I suspect procmail may allow for more complex filtering than is available
in many, if not all email clients. Also using procmail to feed emails
through spamassassin before I get to read them, means I don't have to
wait for them to be processed when I am actually reading the email.

Cheers

Steve
