Wrong. ntpdate queries each server given on the command line
multiple times, 4 by default but this can be changed with the
"-p" parameter. Use "ntpdate -d" to see how this works.

The results from time servers are checked by a subset of
filtering routines used by ntpd and small (<0.5s) clock changes
are done by "slewing" the clock, not by instantly jumping the
clock.
