May I suggest something a teensie bit larger and v easy - a Jabber
server http://www.jabber.org and Gaim http://gaim.sourceforge.net
clients. We make sure our firewall does not allow releveant IM protocols
in or out though...YMMV

Is there a messenger available that I can install on my network?
If a message is sent that it will popup and display it to the user.
