Weird network-msgs in the ALT+CTRL+F1-6 commandlines

Changing the consoles you do not need the Ctrl key, just use Alt+F1-F6.
The Ctrl key is only need of switching from X to console.

Check /etc/syslog.conf for a line

kern.*                               /dev/console

Put in a leading # and run: service syslog restart
