cyradm not working when building from source

I have freshly installed Fedora machine running on Athlon CPU's.

I have built Postfix, SASL, and Cyrus-Imap from source and while I got
outgoing mail to work via SASL, I cannot get cyradm to work...

I had to symlink 

/usr/lib/perl5/5.8.1/Shell.pm

to

/usr/lib/perl5/5.8.1/Shell.pm/Cyrus/IMAP/Shell.pm

after creating the dirs Cyrus/IMAP

I installed cyrus-imap via the book examples in Managing IMAP...

has anyone ran across this before?

I've tried all I can think of.
