Michael,

I don't want to be more regal than the pope, but there is no "Linux 9",
else you are from the future. Then welcome back ;)

Linux is at 2.4.26 and 2.6.5 (see http://www.kernel.org/). Linux is the
kernel, the rest are mainly GNU tools and distribution work.

If with "Linux 9" you spoke about Redhat 9, then this is not Fedora. See
the top of the Fedora project site at http://fedora.redhat.com/ where it
clearly states that Fedora is no Redhat Inc supported product.

So it is not that clear to me what you did download: Redhat 9 - which
reaches EOL in 3 days - or Fedora Core 1. With Redhat (9) questions you
would be on the wrong list, while Fedora Core topics are highly
discussed here.
