NIS/Automount under Fedora

    Well, Windows might complicate things, but the time-tested method of
doing this is to authenticate someplace (historically NIS), host the
home directories somewhere, and make all the machines
very...predictable.  Meaning, when it barfs for any reason, a single
CDROM can rebuild the thing, saving scads of time.

    It appears there's a new version of NFS in the mix now; it uses a
lot of things people have been waiting for...but I don't know it yet.

    But doing this has business implications...
