no sound, audigy, core 2 x86_64

hello,

downloaded the xmms mp3 decoder for core2 x86_64, that seemed to work
alright though now xmms won't load .mp3's into the playlist window. cd
audio shows up in the playlist window and the counter moves but no sound

no sound either in cdplayer.

the play test sound from gnome works.

strange?

all the mixer settings look alright, alsa isn't muted.
