Choose component "distribution", which exists for a long time.

The problem with patenting or licencing issues is that such stuff cannot
even be linked.

It's called AptRpm or just "apt". apt4rpm is an add-on, see
http://apt4rpm.sourceforge.net/

You mean circular integration? RPM uses Yum _and_ Yum uses RPM?
