tv-out for ATI mach64 on Fedora Core 2

I have installed Fedora Core 2 on Compaq Presario with ATI mach64 graphics card. for the last month i have been trying really hard to get the tvout working but with no success. i can see everything on my TV until the X server starts. but after that i see only some coloured lines on the TV.
 
i want to get rid of windows from my machine once i am able to get this tvout working.
please help...
