Getting IP Address

Yes or uhm.. ifconfig will tell your actual boxes IP address, not as seen from 
a remote server (You could be using a transparent proxy server or something 
too, which wouldn't show your real IP).

If you are dialup, probably 'ifconfig ppp0',  broadband probably 'ifconfig 
eth0'

regardless, ifconfig -a shows all interface IP's and other information.
