Wierd Up2Date problem

Here's my problem, my machine at home continually shows 2 updates that are
available, however, running up2date never finds the updates and yum
check-update never shows any new updates either.  My configuration isn't set
to exclude or skip any updates so I don't know what the problem is.  Can
anyone help?
