I don't use automount with FC1 as it wasn't reliable.  I added a few 
lines to /etc/fstab to mount memory sticks.  All the Nikon camera's 
that I have used mounted automatically.

I played a couple of days to get automount to work but it wasn't worth 
the headache to me.  Same on my home computer running FC1.
