Problem with gnome 2.6.2 update in fc2

I had the same problem after doing a fresh install of FC2 a few weeks 
ago. When I logged in as root, the gnome-settings-daemon would crash, 
but logging in as a user worked fine. I just uninstalled it and then 
downloaded and installed an rpm version and now its fixed.
