pop3/imap server - possibly stupid question

"standard" - you did not say whether you use FC1 or FC2. The default
IMAP server on Core 1 is the uw-imap, on Core 2 it is dovecot. But it
does not matter regarding your question.

Why don't you redirect root's mail?

I confirm this: as explained in my other reply, this disallow has good
and severe security reasons. (You can even discuss about the question
whether root should be allowed to establish an SSH connection or not.)
