New video card install failed

Hi Claude,

Could you run this command from your terminal and post the
results:

cat /etc/X11/xorg.conf | grep nv

I'm just trying to see if your using the drivers that ship with
Fedora
Core or the proprietary nvidia driver.

Thanks for your help. I got tired of futzing with this problem,
and since I'm a relatively new user, and this box had been used
for experimenting with Linux, only, I finally decided to hose the
installation and begin anew. Nothing like a house cleaning to
force one to relearn, and revisit install problem from the
perspective of what's been learnt from many failed experiments.
So, I can't do your experiment. The fresh installation identified
the Radeon without incident, and I'm now yumming my way back to
all the current packages. I really didn't lose much doing this,
and since this machine will be migrating to a new role soon, as
the anchor of my home network, and apache front on the web, this
is useful. Again, thanks for your interest.
