Try using rpm -Uvh xxxx to update your current install or rpm -Fvh to
freshen the current install instead of rpm -i to install it,  I
personally always use rpm -Uvh or -Fvh as needed over -i which I use for
kernel installs only.  Also to locate gaim and its path type:

locate gaim
