PPPoE connection

If the modem is a modem then you can manually configure it with
adsl-setup (under fedora).  After the configuration is setup then start
the connection with adsl-start.

If it is a router/modem then use dhcp to connect to the modem and use
its interface to do the configuration.

IIRC SBCGlobal requires simple configs and nothing extra is required.  I
set up one recently for a customer and it worked flawlessly.
