Help needed getting Epson 2400 Perfection scanner working

Hello, Philippe :)
I tried what you said (well, almost.  For some reason, 006 changed to
007) and I had no luck.  Should I /sbin/telinit 1 and then /sbin telinit
back into runlevel 5, to approximate rebooting?
