ati driver (fglrx) and no 3d acceleration

i installed the ATI drivers in FC2 a while ago and they worked great.  since
then, i've installed a new motherboard (nforce2) and they stopped giving me
3d acceleration.  i uninstalled/reinstalled the drivers but still no 3d
acceleration.  lsmod shows that fglrx is loaded, but all my 3d apps run at
like 1 frame per 2 seconds.

any suggestions?  thanks for the help.
