I'd have to check (my FC3 machine is at home), but I think that, in KDE, 
if you right-click on the CD icon on the desktop, you'll have the option 
to eject. Click there and the CD comes... isn't it even fancier (for the 
show-and-tell) than mechanically having to push-a-button? (which isn't 
too different than sticking a paper clip into that little hole in the 
front :-)
