You missed the point I'm tryimg to make. No where in the update process did you request an add-on for yum or apt. check4updates is not a function that needs to be provided within atrpms-61. I have no problem if Axel had packaged check4updates as part of a customized package for yum or apt. He did not. The other problem I have is that he is providing updates for packages provided by Fedora Core with a dependency for a piece of code that FC does not require.
