This is one of the RHCE bugs, So I don't think this is FC3 specific.

If grub isn't getting to your menu, but it's reading a faulty grub 
file. Use the rescue disk and mount the System under /mnt/sysimage/
if no errors. Then % vi /mnt/sysimage/boot/grub/grub.conf and vi 
/mnt/sysimage/etc/fstab. They should be the same, correct the one 
thats faulty.
Or if the MBR was overwritten by something like DOS, run a 
# grub-install /dev/sda (installs grub on the first drive.)
