Hmmm...  How to tell this kindly.  Let try with analogy.  If I were 
doing home renovation for example, and got equivalent advice from 
contractor for something I was concerned with, I'd tell him good bye and 
start looking for new contractor.  There's big difference between 
"solution to the problem" and "I don't want to be bothered with doing it 
right".
