deleted /tmp now kde/gnome won't work

sorry little finger bug there!! what I did was rm -rf /tmp/*

at least I didn't type rm -rf /     !!!!!!

/tmp is still there, ls -ld gives

drwxrwxrwt 42 root root 4096 Dec 14 17:46 /tmp
