CD burning problem

I'm running FC3, kernel 2.6.9-1.667, the stock kernel, 
and have tried to burn using k3b, xcdroast, nautilus, 
and cdrecord as both normal user and as root.

I know that this isn't a hardware issue, because if I 
boot to FC2 (this is a dual boot FC3/FC3 box) I can burn 
CD's as a normal user.  I've been running this same 
hardware since RH8 and until now, have always been able 
to burn CD's.

Any assistance greatly appreciated.
