cdplayer

The default cdplayer exibits a weird flaw: it wont play a cd for me when I put the cd into my cdrom drive.  The cdplay gui pops up, but hitting play does nothing.  Now if I go to the command line and enter cdplay THEN the cd begins to play, but the weirdness doesn't stop there.  I can play/stop the song, but I cannot fast forward and I cannot skip tracks.  I do prefer to use XMMS, but if someone knows a fix for cdplay, it would be nice to know.
