new kernel but doesn't show up in grub at system boot

well have a new problem,
got all updated   yeah!!!!  :) :) :)
now i have 2 kernels installed,   cool so i rebooted, to "Test" the
new kernel, but it isn't showing up in the list of   Operating systems
i can boot into ...
What gives now???
