EXACT copying of cd

# dd if=/dev/cdrom of=/subdirectory/filename.iso
# md5sum /dev/cdrom
# md5sum /subdirectory/filename.iso 
   (if the same output, then you have a proven good copy)
# mount -o loop,ro -t iso9660 /subdirectory/filename.iso /mnt/test-directory
# cd /mnt/test-directory; ls -alR
  (to test if the CD is good)
