Out of curiosity, what did you use in their place?

Alexander Dalloz provided a good link:

http://fedora.artoo.net/faq/#3c905

but this would require recompiling the driver each time you update the
kernel. The faq points to a bug in bugzilla:

https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=107389

which is a workaround by chkconfig-ing kudzu off. Not a good workaround
for me. At the end is an entry to the /etc/modules.conf file, adding
options to the 3c905 driver:

alias eth1 3c59x debug=6 options=4 full_duplex=1

This did not work for me. The only way I was able to get the card to
work was to chkconfig kudzu off and reboot.

Can someone recommend a new card that works right out of the box? I have
not had problems with the RealTek 8139, but I have heard bad things
about the card (maybe just an older spin of the card?).
