OT: Creating CD from playlist

Is there a way in existence to use a playlist to create a cd of  mp3 
files? Looking at an m3u file, it should not be a difficult effort to 
write a script to create a mkisofs command from the m3u file. Before I 
undertook this effort, I was wondering if someone had already solved the 
problem. Note: I'm not looking to convert the mp3 files to wav files to 
create a music cd. I want to create an mp3 cd.
